After having travelled on a 4 hour flight from London Heathrow, we were ready for our stay in the Luxury 5 star accommodation of NH Collection Milano President Hotel. The flight had been running late and so we’d been waiting on the runway for an hour before leaving Heathrow. Flying into Milan had been quite a beautiful view and the landing was smooth as we came into the airport. After finding our way out, we found an Uber driver for the price of £22 to the hotel. As we later discovered, there is a direct bus route which only cost £1.50 which we used on the way back.
After about a half hour journey we arrived at the NH Collection Milano President Hotel
The entrance to NH Collection Milano President opens straight out onto the street and is easy to find. Located in central Milan, you have easy access to all the major tourist sites and is well within walking distance of the Duomo and the major shopping areas of the city
The Hotel has the grand entrance and the sophistication that you’d expect from the excellence provided by NH Collection. Satin seats and red carpeted entrance with a sleek reception desk and spacious view of the restaurant and bar areas. The bar was clean and clear with an extensive array of spirits and liquors adorning the shelves behind. It’s the kind of bar you feel important at.
The elevator took us to the fifth floor where our room was located. The room is at the end of a pretty impressive and wide corridor, dimly lit, but in a calming and gentle way. A pleasant aroma which I can’t quite place, which is familiar with the NH Collection of hotels.
The room opens up to a beautiful condominium style room, with a separate lounge area and an impressive large TV on a metallic stand. There is plenty of storage space and a desk area which is suitable for business work or to use a laptop. There is also a lovely balcony which you can step out onto look out over onto the streets of Milan.
What I like about the NH Collection, is that you are assured an very comfortable and sophisticated stay, with each location presented in a similar style – but each hotel has it’s own very unique and interesting features to explore and discover. In NH Collection Milano, each room and hotel floor has prominent and grand 3D artwork adorning the walls. Attached to each wall is a set of 3D glasses for you to visualise the artwork in both 2D and 3D effects.
Facilities
The rooms are welcoming, chic and stylishly furnished and fully equipped with modern conveniences. Its well-equipped conference centre also makes it ideal for business guests and for organising meetings. Sometimes we have difficulty sleeping and so what we especially liked was the “layered” effect of black out curtains which can help reduce the light at various levels.
Reception
The hotel has 24 hour reception who have friendly and professional staff who can cater for all your needs. The reception can organise the laundry service, room service, and provide advice on activities and travel in Milan. The rooms are equipped with air conditioning, mini bar, excellent internet access (which is easy to log onto) and satellite TV. The room that we were allocated had two grand TVs – one in the lounge area and another in the bedroom area. Each room also has a very secure safety deposit box which can you safely lock away your valuables (such as your passport etc.)
Dining
The hotel has a an A La Carte Restaurant and Buffet Restaurant for breakfasts and meals. They have some really tasty juices presented in carafes and a wide selection of fruits and continental foods. I have to say that as a coffee fan, I really appreciated the Italian Cappuccino in the morning!
Service
The staff were so lovely, they brought us this delicious treat for our first breakfast meal! I made sure I tucked into and enjoyed the chocolates and kumquats!
Conclusions
If you are thinking of travelling to the world famous city of Milan, then you want to stay somewhere comfortable, accessible, and special to come home to at the end of the day after site seeing and touring. NH Collection Milano President is ideally located with excellent transport links and is within a stone’s through of Duomo which means that you can rest and travel here in comfort and ease. It’s a great place to stay if you wish to explore Milan.
