Location:
Constantinou Bros Asimina Suites Hotel is located in the beautiful sunny costal city of Paphos, in the southwest of Cyprus. It is a luxurious 5 star hotel, found close to the Athena Beach and in one of the quieter parts of Paphos. It is only a few minutes walking distance from town centre and it is easy to access some of the islands most famous historical monuments from here, including the Castle and the nearby harbour.
Arrival and Welcome:
We were greeted by the professional and friendly staff at the reception area in the lobby of the hotel. We were taken through to the executive lounge where we were offered some gourmet snacks and some prosecco. We enjoyed our glass of wine and took in the surroundings of the grand cypriot hotel. The reception staff talked to us about the hotel, the island and Paphos, interesting sites we could visit, and provided us with the keycards to the room. She also gave us a mobile telephone phone and explained to us that we could call staff whenever we needed a cocktail or drink, and that we would have access to one of our own cabanas on the beach. Whilst in the cabana we could call staff on the telephone who would bring us drinks whilst we relaxed in the sun.
Stay and Comfort:
We were taken through to our ground floor suite which was a few minutes walk away from the lobby. As we were taken on the route to the room, we realised how large and extensive the hotel was, although it felt calm and relaxed, with a friendly and attentive feel.
We walked down a long corridor past the indoor swimming pool, turned a corner, down another long corridor until we reached our suite. We arrived outside the door and it took a single swipe of the keycard to let us in.
Wow.
The suite was divided into a beautiful living room area, with a sofa, comfy chair, TV, minibar, and a bottle of wine (along with fruits, chocolates, and an additional bottle of champagne). The bedroom area was elegant with a queen size bed, comfortable linen, comfortable chairs, a table, and plenty of cupboard space, with minbar and electronic safe. The bathroom was simply stunning and gorgeous – very spacious, two sinks, separate toilet and shower, large mirrors and an enormous bath fully fitted with shower and designer cosmetics and accessories.
However, what I wasn’t quite prepared for was… I peeled back the gentle and light floor to ceiling curtain, to reveal the suites own private swimming pool and jaccuzi. Slightly set above with wooden decking, the private pool was well placed overlooking the palm trees and out across the hotel complex. It was large and there was plenty of space. Sipping champagne together and eating fruit, with bubbles frothing around, in the warm air, was truly fabulous. I couldn’t get enough of the experience, it was such a major highlight and made this such a special suite to stay in. I can’t recommend it enough.
Facilities:
Another highlight of this exciting hotel, is the cabanas which can be booked in advance (we were allocated our own personal cabanas and so could use it anytime). The cabanas is located on the beach with palm trees around on the beach, with soft floor to ceiling linen white curtains which can be drawn for privacy. Each is fully equipped with a personals box and two large sun loungers set onto a wooden deck flooring. Staff will bring drinks and cocktails at request using the mobile telephone.
Other facilities include a fantastically well equipped gym – something that you would expect from a high end public gym which would have a monthly fee. There are plenty of machines, running machines, and free weights. There is also the Grecian style indoor swimming pool which is both calming and elegant, s well as freshwater and heated.
The hotel also boasts its own flood lit tennis courts, bowling greens, yoga area, table tennis, live music, bars, restaurant, SPA and Wellness activities, helicopter and private jet hire, as well as the lavish gardens and sandy beach.
Dining:
The large dining restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating areas, with an impressive and extensive buffet for breakfast. There is also a chef who is able to cook omelettes, waffles, and additional food in front of you whilst you wait. There are a wide array of juices and fruits sourced locally from the island (which taste sooooooooo fresh). The evening meal has a dress code (smart casual) with an impressive A la carte menu. If you choose to eat outside you can have a wonderful view of the evening whilst overlooking the pool area.
Conclusions:
This hotel really made Cyprus one of those countries that I simply have to return back to. It was fantastic. The suite is really worthwhile and provides you with such a comfortable and luxurious stay. This is the way that high class five star hotels should be. Extremely warm, friendly, professional, and an excellent stay. Made me fall in love with Cyprus.
